Types of energies

Wind power
Wind power has been used for many years to provide mechanical energy for rumning power pumps or machinery.
Today it is used to produce electricity. Globally, wind  power is increasing but wind is a variable energy provider

Hydroelectricy
It is an other mean for electricity production. Hydroelectricy is produced by utilizing the kinetic energy of the water stored in reservoirs . behind dams where it crosses a turbine connected to a generator

Solar power

The earth recives energy from the sun. The generation of electricity from sunlight involves concentrating sunligh to heat a fluid.
Solar power stations are also power towers and parabolic dishes. The former uses mirrors called heliostrals to focus sun’s rays onto a central tower. The latter focuses light onto a stirling and an engine at the dishes focal point. Each dish tracks the sun at the most efficient angle. Solar energy can be use directly heat water or air

Fotovoltaic cells
They produce electricity directly from sunlight. There are no emissions or fuel costs. The process of production starts when a photon hits a semiconducting material (such as silicon) and knocks an electron loose. The efficiency of a photovoltaic cell depends partially on the material it’s made of.

Geothermal power
Earth’s internal heat is thermal energy generated from radioactive decay and continual heat loss from earth's formation. Geothermal power is produced  in power plants that use steam produced from reservoirs of hot water found a few miles or more below earth’s surface to produce electricity. The steam rotates a turbine that activates a generator.
There a three types of geothermal power plants: dry steam, flash steam and binary cycle. It can be employed only where volcanic activity heats  groundwater to steam.
